Hello, I'm Lorayne. I’m a friendly and patient tutor who focuses on making learning clear, manageable, and enjoyable. I create a relaxed environment where you can ask questions freely, build confidence, and learn at your own pace.

My approach is centred on understanding concepts properly while also working efficiently. We’ll break topics down into simple steps and find the quickest way for them to make sense—so you’re not just memorising, but actually understanding and able to apply ideas confidently.

Alongside working as a technician in my gap year, I tutored 11 Year 13 students in A Level Biology and Chemistry, most of whom started with D/E grades. By the end, they achieved 1 D, 5 C’s, 4 B’s, and 1 A—an experience that taught me how to adapt explanations to each student’s learning style and build their confidence.

I balance understanding with the right amount of practice, so concepts stick without feeling overwhelming. If something isn’t clear, we’ll take the time to work through it properly—no pressure, just steady progress.

Academically, I’ve achieved A* in A Level Maths and Chemistry, and A in Biology and Further Maths. I’ve also been awarded Gold in the UK Chemistry Olympiad, along with multiple awards in national maths and science competitions, and currently hold an offer from Imperial College London for Chemistry.

Originally from Hong Kong and currently in my second gap year, I bring a structured yet flexible approach, helping students build strong foundations with confidence.
