General Troubleshooting Steps

Before diving into specific issues, try these quick fixes:

  • If Lessonspace is not loading in, something is actively blocking it. This is likely to be a firewall issue. My first solution would be to change devices as it is likely a hardware problem.
  • Sometimes it is a cache or cookie issue. To clear them:  Here’s how to do it.
  • Please make sure your web browser is fully updated. Older version of chrome and safari are not compatible
  • Try using a different browser (e.g., switch from Safari to Chrome). Safari on MacOS is sometimes buggy so I advise to go to Chrome.
  • Restart your browser and device.
  • Check your internet connection and ensure it meets the recommended speeds.
  • If you're using Apple devices, ensure the microphone isn’t connected to your phone or iPad. Go on Lessonspace and go to Settings → Device Setup and adjust your preferences Here’s how to do it.
  • Ensure your browser has permission to access your microphone and camera. Here’s how to do it.

Lessonspace-Specific Tips

Enable Leading Mode

To ensure your students can see what you see, enable Leading Mode by clicking on the crown icon at the top of the screen.

Go Full Screen

For a distraction-free experience, press the square icon at the top to enter full screen mode.

Troubleshooting in Lessonspace

If you're facing technical issues, press Settings → Troubleshooting in Lessonspace for more diagnostic tools and help.

Connection and Audio/Video Issues

Connection Issues

  • Move closer to the router.
  • Ensure your internet speed is at least 5Mb/s download and 3Mb/s upload. Run a speed test by Googling "Internet speed test."
  • Close unnecessary tabs and applications using the internet.
  • Minimise household internet usage (e.g., avoid streaming or downloading large files).

Audio and Video Issues

  • Ensure permissions for microphone and camera are granted in your browser. Here’s how to do it.
  • Ensure your device is not muted and that your speakers and microphones are functioning properly.
  • Check your settings on Lessonspace to select the correct microphone and camera in Device Setup.
