Hi, I'm Laura. I have been working as a Science teacher for the past 16 years and have extensive experience teaching all 3 sciences at GCSE and Biology at A-level. I have been tutoring students online for the last 8 years.
I work at a very high performing grammar school which is OFSTED rated outstanding. We regularly have multiple students accepted onto courses at Oxbridge. Last academic year 23 of my students received places to study Medicine at university.
I am familiar with multiple exam boards and specifications - I regularly mark GCSE and A-level papers for the exam boards AQA and Edexcel (along with iGCSE and iAL) so have extensive knowledge of applying mark-schemes and what the examiner is looking for in students answers.
As part of my role in school I lead familiarisation sessions in the local community to get students comfortable with our 11 + (we use the GL paper) and have tutored students preparing for the entrance exam in person and online for the last 5 years, delivering both GL and CEM content for NVR, VR, Maths and English. I have tutored both 1 to 1 and group classes so have extensive experience and excellent resources to support you.
I can also support you with revision skills and understanding how to prevent non-cognitive barriers from stopping you from succeeding. This could be support with motivation, organisation and exactly how often/long you should be revising for to fully prepare. I can help you with how to maximise you time, so you achieve fantastic outcomes without having to spend hours and hours revising.
