I am a first year dental student at King’s College London, having just completed my A levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics. I achieved four A*s in these, alongside an A* in my EPQ. I have previously achieved Grade 9s in all ten of my GCSEs.

I have over 2 years of experience as a tutor, involving teaching children from a diverse range of backgrounds and potentially with special educational needs. Each tutee is unique, and to build a bond with them, a tailored communication and teaching style is required. I am able to adapt my teaching method to each individual student, in order to personalise their learning experience. I have also mentored pupils at my previous school for both GCSE and A level subjects, and have experience helping students at different stages on the pathway to the highest grades.

I find understanding a child's motivation to learn to be crucial to helping their development. At first, many pupils solely attend because they are struggling in a subject, and this gives them a very negative perspective on the learning process. I aim to make all students that I teach independent and active learners, that not only learn a subject as they are forced to, but rather as they themselves enjoy it and want to learn more and more. Whilst teaching, I am to build on previous knowledge and help children understand the fundamentals behind a topic. Many students find memorising facts and information tedious, however once they understand the concept behind it and how we arrive at the certain conclusion, it not only makes the learning process more satisfying and enjoyable, but also ensures they truly understand a topic and can therefore apply their knowledge to scenarios far better.
