My name is Adam Gupta, I have a Masters in Economics from the University of Cambridge followed by a MSc in Business Analytics. Prior to this, I did my education from a top UK grammar school, where I studied Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Economics at A Level, receiving 3 A*’s. I have 3+ years of experience working primarily as an A Level Economics tutor, alongside Oxbridge admissions for Cambridge Economics.

A Level Economics

My core specialism is A Level Economics. I work with students across all major exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR) and focus on building three things: strong core understanding, exam technique, and clear, efficient writing.

In lessons, I break complex topics into simple, intuitive ideas first, then connect them back to diagrams and real-world examples so that students properly understand the intuition behind the theory rather than memorising it. From there, we focus heavily on exam skills: how to plan essay questions, how to structure evaluation, how to use diagrams effectively, and how to write in a concise, examiner-friendly style.

I regularly mark students’ essays using official mark schemes and examiner-style comments so they can see exactly what is required for an A* standard answer. I will always maintain the belief that every student has the potential to reach this level with the right guidance and support. This is my goal with every student, and I make sure to tailor my lessons accordingly, adapting to a student’s unique learning style and preferences.

Oxbridge admissions

Alongside A Level teaching, I also support applicants for Cambridge Economics and Oxford E&M, offering targeted help with personal statements, knowledge building and interview coaching. I have worked with 50+ applicants, first drawing on a bank of successful personal statements, followed by collaborative drafting (e.g. via Google Docs), and mock interviews with feedback to help students realize their full potential at interviews.
