Hello! I'm Peter, a friendly and supportive tutor with 8+ years of experience who's passionate about helping students build confidence and understanding so they can smash their academic goals.
I take a personalised approach to learning, starting by understanding exactly where each student is at, what they find challenging, and what they want to achieve. From there, I tailor sessions to suit their needs and help them make clear, steady progress.
Alongside tutoring, I have been working as a journalist for over six years, specialising in explaining news and current affairs to young people. This has given me the great ability to communicate well and to break down complex topics into simple, engaging explanations. This also really helps explain politics in a way that students can connect to the real world. I’ve also been tutoring and working as a guest college lecturer since 2019, gaining valuable experience supporting students in different learning environments.
On the academic side, I hold a Master's degree in Economics, which means I am very confident with numbers and I'm keen to use this experience to help students thrive. Combined with my professional experience, this allows me to explain concepts clearly and in a way that really sticks.
I’m very approachable and enjoy building strong relationships with my students, as I believe this is key to creating a positive and effective learning environment. No question is stupid! I’m getting into tutoring because I genuinely want to help young people thrive, not just improve their grades, but feel more confident in their abilities and enjoy learning along the way.
Look forward to hearing from you
- Peter
