I am a Mathematics graduate from the University of Exeter with experience supporting students across a wide range of abilities. I currently work as a Mathematics Teaching Assistant and Intervention Mentor in a secondary school, where I provide targeted support to students working towards achieving their GCSE in Mathematics. Alongside this role, I mentor small-group online sessions with students from Exeter Maths School, exploring more abstract areas of mathematics that typically sit beyond the standard school curriculum.
Through these roles, I have worked closely with students of differing confidence levels, learning styles, and academic needs, which has deepened my understanding of how individuals engage with and process mathematical ideas.
I place strong emphasis on tailoring each session to the needs of the student, while also encouraging curiosity and resilience in mathematics. My aim is to create a supportive and low-pressure environment in which students feel confident to attempt challenging problems without fear of making mistakes. This approach reflects my own journey through GCSEs, A Levels, and my degree, and underpins my belief that confidence and willingness to explore are just as important as technical ability in mathematical success.
