Hello, I’m Cadell. I have taught Psychology, at a variety of levels (GCSE, A Level and Access to HE), to a wide range of students (aged 14 -70+), for over 28 years.
Psychology is a fantastic subject and I am passionate about helping students to understand the many benefits of studying Psychology - both academically and in everyday life.
I believe that learning should be engaging and enjoyable and I strive to ensure that students have a positive learning experience - learning new concepts with ease whilst also enjoying the learning process.
I am an enthusiastic and energetic teacher and apply a variety of techniques to help students learn. I will explain psychological concepts in a digestible form and discuss them using real-world, relatable examples. Students are also encouraged to ask questions and discuss how concepts may relate to their own experience.
Most students study Psychology with the aim of passing an exam. This provides a good focus for study, with a particular end goal (exam success).
Students typically find that the various psychological insights developed along the way also have a practical value - enabling a greater understanding of both themselves and others.
Most study programmes begin by outlining the foundations of Psychology - the key perspectives (Biological, Behaviourist, Cognitive and Psychodynamic). Students are then required to study certain topics (dependent on their particular syllabus).
Having previously taught all key topics, at, I am able to teach all areas of Psychology. Topics that I particularly enjoy include Child Development, Psychological Disorder, Therapy, Social Influence, and Stress Management. For personal sessions, we will focus on the particular requirements of your syllabus (can be discussed in advance).
Thanks to years of experience in helping students to prepare for exams, I am also able to offer a range of tips and advice with regards to revision techniques, exam strategy and managing stress.
