My general preference is to wait on the call for the first 20 minutes to see if the student joins the lesson. After this period, you will know for certain whether they are attending.

If the student has not joined, you have two options:

You can take full payment for the session. In this case, no further action is required. The lesson will already be marked as completed since you joined the session, and payment will be processed within 36 hours.

Alternatively, you can contact us to reschedule the session. This will then be marked as an unscheduled lesson, to be booked for another time.

In my view, for a first occurrence, it is best to reschedule as a gesture of goodwill. If it happens repeatedly, it is important to respect your time as a tutor and take payment for the missed session.

In either case, I recommend reaching out to the parent to understand why the lesson was missed and to arrange the next session using the messaging system.
